Condolences to the entire Fahey Family. Mr. Fahey left an indelible impression on me from the first time I had the serendipity of meeting him in the basement of Theta Delt. To a young and naive college student like me, it just felt different being in his presence. He was wise, authentic, thoughtful, sincere and had a wit and sense of humor that was uniquely his. He was so humble and a servant leader that inspires me to this day. He would kid about his ephemeral Dartmouth basketball career but then find a way to give an immense amount of time and resource to the Dartmouth basketball program. My first job out of college was at Goldman Sachs and even though he had retired, the stories about his commitment to the ethos of the firm as well as his family and personal values echoed loudly throughout those hallways at 85 Broad Street. Mr. Fahey, we appreciate all you've done and will miss you dearly. Sending all our love to the entire Fahey Family.
With condolences, Jake & Nikki Capps

I am shocked to learn that Peter has passed away. He had such a strong personality and undeniable presence- it is hard to think that he is gone.
I first met Peter at Dartmouth when he joined Phi Delta Alpha fraternity. He was definitely a fan of rock and roll music, especially Elvis. One slow Saturday night, a group of Phi Delts chipped for a keg and we were listening to the juke box in the Phi Palace basement. Peter started talking about Elvis and I mentioned that I had several of his records upstairs. Peter immediately unplugged the juke box and we played every one of the 45 rpm Elvis songs. Peter led the group in a sing-along that lasted well into the night. Fun times.

I knew Pete from freshman basketball at Dartmouth. Many years later, when he was a trustee, he and I communicated about an idea I had for the newly proposed residential house groupings at the College. Though we didn't see each other often, each time we did, Peter never failed to mention my idea and his support for it, as well as his recollections of my jump shot. At our 50th Reunion, I was chatting with a very pleasant woman at a gathering at the Ravine Lodge when the subject of Pete came up. She seemed to know a lot about him. When I asked her how she knew so much about Pete, she replied, "I'm his wife." My heartfelt condolences to her and to their children and grandchildren. As someone else has said in these condolences, they pretty much broke the mold when they made Peter Fahey. An incredible guy who led a wonderful life full of meaningful
accomplishment. May you Rest In Peace Pete. David Bergengren '68

As a former high school classmate, I have fond memories of good times with Pete and our crew of those days. After going in different directions after graduation, I enjoyed seeing Peter at a few Winchester High School class reunions. Always a fun guy to be around. I don´t expect you to remember me, Helen, but I´m the guy known as "Skinny". I recall that Pete loved Elvis Presley, I hope his music is played at the memorial service. Sincere condolences.

Jackie and I extend our deepest condolences to Helen and all of Peter´s family. It is hard to believe that so vibrant a man, so full of life and laughter, is gone. I will remember all our work together for our class and for Dartmouth, all the vertical feet skied, and - most fondly of all - that little black book and all those jokes. I never met a man who enjoyed his own jokes more than Peter did. And I never met anyone who knew him who didn´t enjoy his company just as much.
Rest easy, my friend. Your memory will always be with us.

I knew Peter from when I worked at Goldman. My fondest memory is when we all attended a Christmas party. I was dancing with him and he called me by name which surprised me. I told him that I didn't know he knew my name and he said "of course I do." I was a secretary and he was a Partner. He was so kind and easy to talk to. I'm very sad to learn of his passing. My deepest condolences to his family.

Peter was a wonderful man; unique even. A great banker, trusted advisor to CEOs and CFOs, thoughtful mentor to colleagues and a highly principled carrier of the Goldman Sachs culture during the years when that meant something. He combined all these great qualities with a fabulous sense of humor and the talent for not taking himself or his enormous success very seriously. Probably one of the smartest people I have met; I have fond memories of his extraordinary compendium of jokes and his encyclopedic knowledge of "classic rock" trivia. In working hours, Peter was a serious , intense and forbidding presence. After hours, he was, literally, the life and soul of the party. The world is a much less interesting and kindly place without Peter. I can't imagine the void he leaves in the life of Helen and the family that he demonstrably loved so much. We will not see his like again. Our loss is heaven's gain. Requiescet in pace, Peter
