Roger Wright Obituary

Roger M. Wright Jr.

Claremont, NH - Roger Malcolm Wright Jr., a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in Claremont, New Hampshire, at the age of 64. Born on January 19, 1961, in Claremont, he was the son of the late Roger Wright Sr. and Virginia Ann (Cook) Wright. Roger's family and friends remember him for his profound love of life, his unwavering spirit, and his dedication to community service.

Roger is survived by his cherished children, Derrik Wright and Regina Wright-Gadway, as well as his loving sister, Barbara Walsh. He also held dear the relationships he maintained with his previous stepchildren, Tim Chapin, Christina Chapin, and Stacy Chapin. His legacy is further enriched by his beloved nieces and nephews, Kyle Chapin and Jessica Morin, and the laughter and joy brought to his life by his 14 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and all four of his grandparents, leaving behind a family that will forever celebrate his memory.

From a young age, Roger was captivated by the thrill of snowmobiling, a passion sparked in 1968 when his father introduced him to the sport. At just seven years old, he began riding his father's snowmobile, traversing the fields near their home. This early love for adventure propelled him into a life of dedication to the snowmobiling community. Over the decades, he held numerous positions within the Shugah Valley Snow Riders and the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association, culminating in roles as President and Chair of various committees. His efforts were instrumental in the growth and success of the NH Grass Drags event, which expanded significantly under his leadership, drawing competitors and fans from across the globe.

Roger's professional journey was as diverse as his hobbies. He was a country music artist, a skilled motorcycle mechanic, a welder, and a sales representative with Crown Point Cabinetry. He eventually became the Owner and President of Ro-ick Transport Inc. in 1998, where he built lasting relationships in business and the community.

The impact Roger made on the lives of those around him cannot be overstated. His contributions to the snowmobile community and his unwavering support for those he loved are a testament to a life well-lived. His warm smile, infectious laughter, and generous spirit will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Roger at the Cornish Fair Grounds on July 19, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM. Address- 294 Town House Road, Cornish, NH 03745. All who knew him and loved him are invited to join in remembering a man who dedicated his life to family, friends, and the pursuit of passion in all its forms.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association in Roger's memory, continuing his legacy of passionate community service.
