Joseph Corig Obituary

Dr. Joseph A. Corig Jr., M.D., went to be with his Lord on Aug. 31, 2004, at the age of 70 years young.Born in Rochester, N.Y., he lived in Apple Valley for 18 of his 30 years in California.He was a family physician and friend to the community for 18 years, with medical service of 10 years.He served in the U.S. Army for two years including the Cuban Crisis of October 1962. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lucia Corig of Apple Valley; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Andrew Chavez of Marysville; daughter, Ellie Corigliano of Santa Barbara; son, Joseph Corigliano III of Apple Valley; brothers, John Corig of Huntington Park, James Corig of Apple Valley and Anthony Corig of LaGrande, Ore.; sister, Mary Rosebud Alcocer of Upland; and grandchildren, Caleb, Giovanna, Andrew and Emma.Joseph was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. He was a true patriot of these United States.Services will be at 10 a.m. today at our Lady of the Desert Catholic Church in Apple Valley. Burial will be at Victor Valley Memorial Park following the services.Victor Valley Mortuary is handling arrangements.
