Ruby Ann Strange, 108, of Waco, passed away January 12, 2021. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 16, at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 15, at the funeral home.
Ruby was born on March 29, 1912, to E. A. and Maude (Grayson) Meyer in Lacy Lakeview, Texas. She was a longtime resident of McLennan County. Ruby worked with McLennan Sheriff's Department for 44 years and retiring at the age of 88 years of age. She was an honor member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 25 years of faithful service.
Ruby was preceded in death by parents; husband, L. B. May; and sister, Clarice Payton.
Survivors include her daughter, Bettye Falco of League City; grandson, Tim Falco and wife, Kim, in Tomball; granddaughter, Wendy Broski and husband, Brian, of Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Haley Watson and Nik Watson.
In lieu of flower the family request memorials be made to the American Heart Association. Please be considerate of Covid-19.

Betty & Family,
My sincere condolences to your family on Ruby's death. Although I did not get to see her this past year due to COVID restrictions and I could not understand her clearly via phone, I thought of her often. We shared many great times together that I will forever cherish. RIP Miss Ruby...until we see each other again. Love you!

I remember Ruby from the Sheriff's department when I used to go there as a young reporter. She was always so kind and helpful. She's a good example for us all.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Ruby. My mother, Frances, was a friend of hers and met when mother worked in the court house. She was a gracious guest in our home many times. Bless you Ruby, and look around up there for mother.

Ruby and I used to drink coffee and discuss the day ahead at 7 in the morning. She had already started her day in the Sheriffs office and I was about to start mine in the Hot Check Dept. She was such an inspiration to me and I will miss our talks on the phone that we have had in recent years. Bettye and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Ruby, I love you and we will meet again for coffee.
