Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, prior to the service at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Garden Room. Following the service the family will be at 301 Chartwell. Teresa was born Dec. 14, 1960, in Waco, to Jerry and Carolyn Ponder. She lived in Waco all of her life, graduating from Richfield High School where she was a cheerleader and received numerous academic awards. She was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy from Americus University. She was board certified as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse. She was member of the Center for Biblical Counseling and the American Association of Christian Counselors. Teresa worked a Brazos Psychiatric Hospital and was the Program Director at Avalon Center for Abused Women for many years. She had an intense love for animals and her constant companion was her little dog, Shelley. She was kind and generous beyond words, loved her Lord deeply and lived her life accordingly. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Bonds Ponder; maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by Kenneth Dooley; two sons, Nickolas and Christopher; one daughter, Summer; mother, Carolyn Braziel and husband, Samuel; sister, Susan Wooten and husband, Anthony; nephews, Jason, Josh and Justin Bearden; niece, Jordan Bearden; and many, many dear friends. The family would like to thank the nurses of Providence ICU, 3 South, Providence Hospice and Dr. Brock Morris. Ken, Wes just called and told me about Teresa passing away. I havent seen either of you in a long time, but she is still in my heart, as being a most loving, caring, and giving young woman. She reached out to me when I needed someone. I will never forget her kindness. Trust in God with all your heart and He will help you through this difficult time. My love to you, Sandra

Dear Susan, Carolyn, and family,

I was deeply saddened to receive the news about little "T". I am also filled with regret that I never got to tell her what a good friend she was to me.
Sometimes we get caught up living our lives and we lose touch with those that have been close to us. I hope we can share some memories soon and know you all are always in my heart.

Susan,

I was so shocked and saddened to read about Teresa in the newspaper. My heart goes out to you and your family. I remember us playing softball together as little girls. I thought Teresa was a special young girl then. It sounds like she grew up to be an even more special woman. I know you and your family will miss her dearly. Please know my thoughts are with you.

I always thought you were the cutest "little" thing, which is funny as we were about the same height. You were definitely the sweetest girl at Lake Air Jr. High. I was painfully shy, but when I least expected it, you would yell across the Science room and say hello, or ask me how I was doing, include me in a conversation... I couldn't help but yell back! You were nothing but kind to me and I appreciated it.
