Dale G. Meece, 59, of Wahoo, NE, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the Buffet Cancer Center in Omaha, NE. He was born August 5, 1965, in Wahoo, NE to George and Doris (Hanke) Meece. Dale lived most of his life in Wahoo. After sharing his life for 4 years, he married his best friend and love of his life, Sherri Sulley on April 17, 2010.
Over the course of his life, Dale tried his hand at different occupations, which included working for Foxly Cattle Yard and Schuyler Pack, building irrigation pivots and bartending (he was known as the best bartender in Wahoo). Insulfoam in Mead, NE, became his work "home" in September 2002. During this time, he and his wife owned the Wahoo Bakery for 6 years. He said he was the "silent" partner of the business. After working a long day at Insulfoam, he was always willing to stop at the bakery to help when needed.
Dale enjoyed watching Husker football, hunting, golfing and smoking meats. Most of all, he enjoyed his Garage Time with family and friends. Although Dale was a self-proclaimed Grumpy Old Man, those who knew him understood the wonderful man he was. Dale was a one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
Dale is survived by his wife, Sherri Meece; children, Andrew Workman, Jennifer Elliot, Khrystal Meyers and Chris Meyers; grandchildren, Jayda Workman and Caleb Workman; mother, Doris Meece; brother, Tom Meece; brother-in-law, Larry Geistfeld; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father and twin sister Gail Geistfeld.
Funeral Service was held Monday (10/14/2024) 10:30 a.m. at Svoboda Funeral Home, Wahoo, NE. Officiant, Pastor Don White. Visitation was held Sunday (10/13/2024) 5-7 p.m. at Svoboda Funeral Home. Interment at Sunrise North Cemetery, Wahoo, NE.
