Randal Gerdts Obituary

Randal "Randy" Ken Gerdts, age 57, passed away on Sunday, January 4th, after a short stay at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska.

Randy was born in Wahoo, Nebraska, on October 1st, 1968, to Arthur and Keryl Gerdts. He grew up in Wahoo, graduated from Wahoo High School in 1987, and later earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City.

For 33 years, Randy cared for patients at his Brentwood Chiropractic Clinic in La Vista, Nebraska. He was known for his skill, sincerity, and the genuine kindness he showed to every person who walked through his door.

Randy was a lifelong golfer who loved traveling around the country to play new courses. Some of his best days were spent on the course with friends and family, especially his dad and his best friend, Zachary Biegert.

Randy's favorite title was "Uncle Randy." He proudly adored his 12 nieces and nephews: Ryan and Laura (Gerdts) Samuelson; Liz Loring and Renee (Loring) Zunker; Jessica and Wesley Godeken; Chloe', Cassie, Carlee, Eli, and Ben Simonson; and especially Zachary Biegert. Many honor him with "UR" tattoos, a tribute to the uncle who supported and cared for them deeply.

Randy is survived by his soulmate, Kristine Simonson, Zachary Biegert & his fur baby Cooper.

Brother, Steven (& Cindy) Gerdts; sisters, Marla (Gerdts) Loring and Terri (Gerdts) Gagnier; and his stepmother, Jerrie (Dring) Gerdts. His brothers in his Simonson Family include Mark and Kevin, whom he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Keryl Gerdts, and his sister, Tammi (Gerdts) Godeken.

Randy's legacy is one of kindness, dedication, and joy. He was so much fun to be around and loved making others laugh, leaving everyone feeling lighter for having spent time with him. He will be deeply missed, and the love he shared will live on in all who knew him.

Randy's Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, January 22nd from 4 - 7:30 p.m. at Venue 779 in Waterloo, Nebraska, open to the endless list of his family and friends.

Randy and I played many rounds of golf together in years past. He was a super guy who was always positive and always had a smile on his face. I had briefly visited with him several times this past summer before his golf league was to start. He loved the game of golf. I will miss him and positive view of life. Floyd K
