I feel tremendous sadness at Adam's passing. As Adam's mother's cousin, I know of his strong sense of family. He was much loved.

The members of the Promenade tennis family were saddened to hear the news of Adam's passing. We will all miss him not only as a player, but as a neighbor and good friend. We have fond memories of the many hours we shared with him both on and off the courts.
We want to extend our condolences to his family.

"To Adam's family and friends: Please accept my heart-felt condolences. I had the honor to get to know Adam over the past two years, mostly from playing tennis together at the Promenade and elsewhere - and also because of our shared love of the Yankees. He was an extremely intelligent and warm person and a kind friend - always someone I looked forward to spending time with. He touched the lives of many people and I will miss him greatly." To the Lilling family and friends.
I hope that I can share with you how much your son, husband, brother and friend has meant to me in the past two years.
My life was better for having known Adam!
Adam had a smile that made my joy feel welcomed! Adam's heart had open arms for all that chose to embrace him. But most of all Adam had a willingness to slow his life for a moment to make others feel his presence.
I will truly treasure the times I spent visiting with Adam! I will long for the tennis game we always said we would find time for but had not yet played! I will smile and laugh in the spring as our team takes the softball field and think of him bounding into the outfield with the energy of a true player!
I wish I had the ability to stop time from moving forward and return to any one of the many occasions when we would pass in the halls of the office and stop to chat... I would talk his ears off as I have so many times before! I would grab hold of him and not let him leave us because he had so much more to experience with us but most of all I would embrace him and hold him close as I know God is holding him now! Because he deserves to be enveloped by love and held in a place of unending joy for all of the happiness he gave to us!
I loved your Adam and I thank you for sharing him with me even for such a brief moment in time!
Adam's friend,
Meryl Vlatas
