Mr. Altimont was a loving father, a Patriot, and a great role model for all the crazy young Prep and St. Bart's boys who were lucky to be friends of his son, Alan. If it wasn't for Mr. Altimont, I'd have never owned a golf club. I feel blessed to have known him. Mr. Altimont, please check in on me when I'm in the rough! RIP

Al Altimont was a boyhood hero of mine, a role he'd be profoundly embarrassed to have occupied. He was a gentle man and a fine sculptor, but most of all, to friends of his children, he was a consistently cheerful paterfamilias who welcomed us as if we were his own. He and Jean never made us feel like the intruders I know we were. Thank you, Big Al. My heartfelt condolences to Jean, Alan, Terry and your families.
