ALBERT A. GRANT
On Thursday, April 2, 2015, ALBERT GRANT, 88 of Potomac, MD. Beloved husband for 65 years of Helene Grant; loved and devoted father of David Grant (Shirley) and Linda Manion (Chris); cherished grandfather of Katy and Dylan Grant and Grant Manion; loving brother of Dr. Stuart Grant and the late Erv Grant. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 8, 11 a.m. at Temple Emanuel, 10101 Connecticut Avenue, Kensington, MD. Family will receive friends following service, and Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. at 9036 Willow Valley Dr., Potomac. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Society of Civil Engineers, 1801 Alexander Bell Dr., Reston, VA 20191 or Temple Emanuel.

Grant family, my sincere condolences are extended to you all for the loss of your loved one. No doubt she is and will be dearly missed by many. May God "grant you peace" (Num 6:26) to deal with the pain of your loss. My prayers are with the entire family.

It was a great honor and pleasure to work with Al at COG, TRB, ASCE, and elsewhere over many years. He was a valued contributor to the profession. It was a pleasure to talk with him on an ASCE conference call just a few days ago. I feel blessed to have had that opportunity.

I am grateful personally to Al for inviting me to join in the ASCE sustainability initiative, focus my retirement activities on its important objectives, and enjoy collaborations with outstanding and dedicated persons who are typified by Al himself.
