Benjamin Herbert Woods (Age 87)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of MSG (U. S. Army Ret) Benjamin H. Woods, Sr. of Silver Spring, MD on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Benjamin is survived by his loving wife Eloise; children Benjamin, Jr., Lillian (husband Michael), Walter, Kelvin (wife Tammera), five granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, his sisters Fannye, and Levon; and three brothers in-laws, one sister-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, August 16, from 2 to 4 p.m., where Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 11 a.m.

My deepest sympathies to the Woods family I first met Ben in the Boy Scouts where I worked. Ben has always been a soft spoken gentleman. Later we would
see each other at the tennis courts at Wheaton where I took several lessons from him or the Wheaton

Ben Woods and I were photo journalist for Black Tennis magazine. we did a lot of traveling and shooting tennis players playing all over the world. Ben was a wonderful guy quiet. We liked a lot of the same things we used to compare notes as far as lenses and pictures and cameras and things. I thought US open in New York was one of our favorite places because it was where we spent the most time, he´s going to be sorely missed by all who knew him may he rest in peace
