Bernard Richard Shochet (Age 92)
Dr. Bernard R. Shochet, Baltimore Internist and Psychiatrist for nearly 40 years until retiring in 1996 died Saturday, October 14, 2023 at age 92. He was surrounded by his loving family. Cherished father of Susan Abramson (Paul), Dr. Robert Shochet (Jodi), and Cantor Michael Shochet (Denise); adored grandfather of Erin (David) Mossberg and Rabbi Matisyahu (Chaya) Shochet, Andrew (Heather) and Samuel (Kim) Abramson, Jacob and Zachary Shochet; and great-grandchildren Reid and Riley Mossberg, Miriam, Shlomo, Yitzchak and Sara Chava Shochet, and Andi Abramson. Beloved brother of Doris Sherman, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his loving wife, Sondra Shochet.
Funeral service to be held at Temple Rodef Shalom, 2100 Westmoreland Street, Falls Church, VA, 22043, Tuesday, October 17 at 10 a.m. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to Senior Cantor's Discretionary Fund, Temple Rodef Shalom: www.templerodefshalom.org or to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). Dr. Shochet was my physician for many years when I lived in Pikesville. He was kind and compassionate with his patients. When my Father-in-law was dying in the hospital, Dr. Shochet arranged to have him return home where he died peacefully the next day. I was happy to read he had his family around him at the time of his death. God Bless each of your as you remember him lovingly. Diane Brotman Whyms
