I'm hoping this will be seen by some of Caroline's family, on what I think is 109 years after her birth. In 1977, my husband, Jack Sadoway (1940-2014), and I had a magnificent 36 days with Caroline, Marnie and Ben, traveling from Greece to Romania and across the Atlantic on the freighter Hollandia. We told stories galore, showed her around Thessaloniki when we made a stop there, which we did with ease since we spoke Greek after having lived in Athens for some ten years. Ben and Marnie had heavy bags full of NYT Book of the Month books which we all devoured, including "Roots". We later visited Caroline at her home - I have so many fond memories! I'm on Facebook for anyone who might want to search for me! Caroline is still so alive in my memory.
