Charlie, Margaret, Richard and Paige,
I know that this is a time of great sorrow for you. I hope that it will pass quickly and that you will be able to recall the wonderful times you had and how much both you and your father knew how much you cared and loved each other.
This gift can never be lost or purchased.

Charlie was a wonderful guy. He was a great lawyer, ethical and compassionate, and a great citizen. Most of all, he was cheerful. His positive outlook brought joy to everyone.

I am a neighbor and friend of the two boys that Charles saved. Our small neighborhood is shocked and awestruck at the bravery of Charles to save these wonderful two boys. The boys' family is one of the most caring and wonderful families in our town - and the two young boys are the same. They are smart and funny and full of potential. We all just love them so much.
I just felt the need to express our deepest sympathy to your family and friends and that although we did not have the pleasure of knowing Charles, that his act of bravery will never be forgotten by any of us.
Your family is in all of our hearts and may God bless all of you during this time.
With deepest sympathy,
The Hewitt Family

To the Schulze Family.
Even though you don't know us, our hearts go out to your family. My husband and I were staying at the Royal Vista when we saw your dear father, grandfather, brother being taken to the hospital after he saved those little boys. I am sure that is something that family will carry with them for the rest of their lives!
Mr. Schulze was a true hero, and my heart breaks for your loss. God Bless.

I can't say enough about how wonderful Charlie was to all of those who knew him. He was and will always be the most thoughtful, courageous, caring, distiguished, and of course loving man, father, grandfather, friend, and companion anyone could ask for in this world. I know that Charlie is looking down at everyone and wanting us all to know that we have to think of him when we do the "usual" activities that he would join in with us whether it is a cocktail after work, driving to the beach, going to Secreats, holiday time, or spending time with Schulze family. Know that Charlie's love will continue to show through each and every one of us and especially through those boys who he saved. What an amazing man. I love and will miss you Charlie. Make everyone laugh up there and we will remember you in our thoughts and hearts.

I am so sad to hear of Charlie's passing. He was like a member of our family. My memories of him are all happy ones. He had such a great sense of humor and seemed to never meet a stranger. God Bless Charlie and his family.

I am so sad to hear about Charlie.....I have so many of my life memories with Charlie in them and although I didn't see him often in the last years of his life, the thought of him always makes me smile! Everybody loved Charlie! I am glad that at least he went out as a hero and he didn't have to suffer......He will be remembered fondly by many!

Charlie was always a very special friend to me - I have nothing but wonderful memories of my times with him - although heroic he was taken from us way to soon - How ironic one so full of life would be the one to give someone a second chance at life. My thoughts and prayers to all of his family and friends.

I was so sad to learn of the passing of Mr. Schulze. What a legacy to have--that of helping others--though he would probably not want to have much said about him that way. I've talked to him numerous times on the phone--he was always so friendly. Please accept my deepest sympathies to his family, friends and all who loved him.
