It Pains me to think about your absence... My thoughts and memories from when we were kids ranging from playing sports with the other local kids, you loosing a shoe at the West Alabama Fair - to this day I still can't imagine how one can loose a shoe that they were wearing on their foot, to watching you play sports - little league, to you playing Middle School and High School sports, to waking up on Christmas getting our gifts from football with uniforms to Rock'em, Sock'em robots, etc.... I miss our conversations during the Covid shutdown as I had no time that your time was drawing near. All I can say it that the love, joy and even frustrations at times were real. Physically you were always the Big Brother and protector in general which I kind of think led you into police work. You always championed and looked out for the least of these so you serving and protecting society fit with you as a hand in glove. Who would have thunk that a heart that cared so much lived inside what could be percieved as a intimidating frame. Rest in Power Little Brother as the love never dies. I will hold on to the memories and the love until we have our family reunion one day.

Our deepest and sincere sympathy to Kathi and the Toney family. What an honor to have been a friend of Chester Toney He was gentle giant, an officer and a true gentleman. Chester had a contagious smile that touch everyone. We both retired in 2011, promising to keep in touch and we did. When I say I will miss Chester, I truly will. I will miss his laugh. I will miss his wise words. I will miss his caring ways. I will miss his generosity and kindness. I will miss talking to him. Chester peacefully Rest in The Arms of JesusC

Chester, may you rest in peace. To the Toney family, I want to offer my deepest sympathy, condolences, prayers, and most importantly my love to you all. Chester was a one of kind. There are no words to express the magnitude of respect, and love that I had for him. When he entered a room his presence commanded respect, his smile commanded joy, and those fedoras commanded business. He always dressed to empress. Chester was truly loved, and will be missed by many.
