We will always remember Dales laughter and warm embrace that never failed to make us feel welcome whenever we were with him. His jovial personality was always such a pleasure to be around. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

I liked seeing Dale as he always referred to me as "young man"

I often thought "I gotta hang out with him more often!"

In Jan 1980 when I started working for NRC in policy, Dale was hired as the Personnel Staffing Director. His youth and enthusiasm sure brightened up the floor. In the office across from me was a friendly perky woman named Lisa. It appears that eventually these two people found each other (haha)! The rest of the story speaks for itself. Lisa and I went on to different offices, then wound up in the same Branch in 1985. Then came the good news that Lisa & Dale were to become parents! Then along came Dillon! Thru the years, Dillon, your Mom would order your special birthday cakes from Juanita and I would bring them in--always made especially for you! It has been fun keeping up with the family news these years, and it is known how much Dale is loved. As you know he is with you in spirit and I know your heart is filled with joy from his love and memories. Love to you both, from Sandy

I will always remember the wonderful, caring attitude that Dale brought to everyone and every situation. Whether talking the Terps, his beloved capitals, or just telling a simple story, Dale had a love of life that not many share. Dale you will be missed.

Dale was the nicest person you can know. He made everyone feel like a millon bucks. His wife was his true love and vis versa. He had so much compassion and was so humble. His loss is felt around the world. Ann Brown

Dale was a great person to know, and to have as a friend. He saved my life when we were at Shaw High, and I regret not staying in touch through the years.

Lisa, and Dillon, if I can ever be of service in the Cleveland, Ohio, area, you only need to ask.

Dale was very special to my father. His loss is felt greatly by our entire family and me especially. Dale displayed such a strong bond of friendship to our family that we consider your family our family. Family is more than just blood. It is those connections that make life special. Lisa and Dale have always been there to celebrate our family’s best of times. You shared with us your family’s successes and failures. And I will never forget when your family opened up your home to me when I visited D.C. Although, I could not be there to celebrate Dale’s life and mourn his passing I am thinking about Dale and his wonderful family daily. Dale always treated me with respect and friendship. In my experience he treated everyone with that same respect and friendship. I thank Dale for his lifelong friendship with my father. I can think of no better tribute to Dale than to say that his friendship has made a difference in the person I am today. And I don’t think I am alone…

Dale, may you find the peace that you always gave to those around you. Your compassion, warmth and keen intellect made you one of my most treasured friends. Memories are hard to put into words because it was your very presence, the essence of who you are that always drew me to you in times of trouble and of joy. You shared yourself freely and left me feeling heard, and even more, loved. I will miss you deeply, but having known you has molded who I am and you will always live on in my heart.

My children always appreciated that Dale spoke to them just as he would an adult, and he asked them their opinions and thoughts on different issues. (Our son, Ricky, played with Dillon on a soccer team so we saw the Collins family every weekend at the games).

John and I appreciated Dale's always cheerful and friendly demeanor. He was a great person.
