David Gaffney was a dear, dear friend of my brother's and mine, particularly when I was a boy. He had a huge impact on me, taking me hiking and turning me onto different kinds of music and college basketball, too -- all things I'm love today. As a kid, he had me listen to off-the-chart bands like Spookytooth and the ...Youngbloods. And he loved UCLA basketball and Bill Walton. David was a huge spirit and bigger than life to me. I lost touch with him although I thought about him often. I just learned he passed. I'm so sorry for not rekindling my relationship with him.
