Uncle Dave, thanks for being just as bad at golf as me and my Dad. And thanks for introducing my Dad to your younger sister. I used to love the stories of teenagers Dave, Jim and cousin Jack.

I´ve spent so many family dinners with Uncle Dave and Aunt Anne at our house or at there´s, and especially remember the fantastic 4th of July parties with homemade ice cream out at their house in Great Falls. At dinner, I would watch Uncle Dave with mouth agape waiting for something funny to come out as it always did. Rest in peace, dear Dave.

Uncle Dave was there for me in my 20's when I needed help buying a car (he got me a loan) and when I was between residences. I got to stay with him and Anne for a couple of weeks and enjoyed that time. They pampered me! On a business trip to Boulder, he came to my house for a barbecue and we had a great time. I miss his sense of humor and intelligence. I found pictures of him with his siblings at his house in Great Falls, VA, a picture of his parents and family on their 60th wedding anniversary, and one of him and Anne at his nephew Jim's for a family barbecue.

So long, Uncle Dave. I guess that Big Black Packard took you safely to the other side, as in your poem. Now you can goof around with your brothers again. I will miss your wit, intelligence, and affection. [pictures below]
