David Welch Obituary

WELCH DAVID JOHN WELCH (Age 61) On Thursday, August 28, 2008, DAVID JOHN WELCH of Manassas, Virginia died at Prince William General Hospital with this family at his bedside. He was born October 20, 1946 in McAllen, Texas, son of the late Marshall J. and Estela Cantu Welch. David was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a former Arlington County Firefighter, a Civil War history enthusiast, an avid coin collector and admirer of antique trains. Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Daisy Welch; five children, Krista Welch Ormsby and husband, David of Woodbridge, Virginia, Wendy Bonesteel of Manassas, Virginia, Dyan Joy Welch of Arlington, Virginia, Emily Rachel Welch and fiancC), George G. Peters, Jr. of Manassas, Virginia and Kelly Katherine Welch of Manassas, Virginia and three grandchildren, Tyler Lucas Ormsby, Brandon Nicholas Ormsby and Lilianne Jae Peters. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at PIERCE FUNERAL HOME, 9609 Center Street, Manassas where funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle with military honors. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of flowers or contributions to Capital Hospice, 10530 Linden Lake Plaza, Suite 200, Manassas, Virginia 20109 in memory of David John Welch.
