DONALD F. EVANS  
Donald Friedrich Evans was born June 8, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri and died suddenly on October 22, 2013 at his home.He was a resident of Herndon, Virginia for the last 25 years. Don served in the United States Air Force and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant while primarily stationed in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  After being honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1979, Don began working for MCI Communications Corp., building his career from the ground up. Starting out as a technician, he worked tirelessly for many years, eventually becoming Vice President of Federal Regulatory Affairs. He was retired from MCI for a number of years before he decided to take on a new challenge when he went to work at Koons Tysons Toyota. He quickly established himself as a top truck salesman acquiring many awards and accolades of success along the way. Don was an avid hunter and fisherman and traveled North America to seek out big game and fish. He also enjoyed raising and training dogs to compete in field trials and serve as retrievers for bird hunting. Don is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Denny, his children Jeremy, Breyn, Emily, and Dylan, and his granddaughter Lorelei - all of the Washington area. He is also survived by his sister Karen Finkel and husband William, also of the Washington area, and his brother Robert and wife, Kate, of Connecticut. He was predeceased by his father, Wilbur Evans and mother, Geneva. His family is planning a gathering to celebrate his life and achievements at a later date. Don was a great co worker and friend while stationed at K.I. Sawyer AFB Mi. We shared many 12 packs while playing card each night after work and fishing. Sorry to hear of his passing.
