Ellie: You are already missed greatly. Your Seattle neighbors and friends have come together to love you and be together in your absence and presence in your old home and yard. You are still here in our hearts and deeds. We realized how many of us you connected. You were such a wise, loving, but easy going mother. You were a loving supportive wife. You managed to find time to do the many things you loved while caring for your family and connecting your community. Your smile and voice will always be with me. Along with images of those beautiful little boys on your back or being pushed on the tree swing by you, endlessly. Ellie, you lived very intentionally. I will always remember your essence. As I stood in church on Easter I was overwhelmed by this hymn: "We know that Christ is raised and dies no more.
Embraced by death, he broke its fearful hold, and our despair he turned to BLAZING JOY. Alleluia!" It feels hard to say those words now in grief but if anyone embodies BLAZING JOY it would be Ellie. The way she lived has reminded me to be intentional and live each day to the fullest. My prayers and thoughts are with the family as you journey through this darkness. May you be strengthened by the light she brought to so many people.

I send my deepest condolences and thoughts of love to the friends and family. May the joyous memories bring you peace during this difficult occasion. I hope that you can draw consolation and solace from the God of all comfort (2 Cor. 1:3)
