Today is the last day for your guest book but don't think this will be the end of our conversations. It was a lonely but productive year. I will miss writing to you. Calvin is doing really well in school at Alice Deal and he loves it. He also is playing the trombone now. We regret that you will miss his recital. We will see you when we get there. Continue to take care and say hello to grandpa and Bubba. Truly missing you!!!!
Goodbye for now.

I am just getting a chance to write to you. Calvin and I always think of you. The boys will be in the 7th grade this year. They are growing so fast. They also miss you. Every time we walk pass 20th Street, we laugh about you taking down the wallpaper.
We will continue to celebrate your life in everything we do.
Sincerely,
Traci

Thanks Alexis for the Guest Book, as you said "Let's CELEBRATE GAVYN LIFE"......Dear Gavyn it been a year...The family thought are always thinking of you.....You are truly miss...such an empty space.....Love always, yor Aunt and The Williams Family Clan.....
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff--they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
Amen....

When I miss you, I don't have to go far ... I just have to look inside my heart because that's where I'll find you. by Unknown
Elliot I can't believe it's been a year since God called you home. We're missing your laugh and all the crazy stories you used to tell. Until we meet again. We love you always.

At some point this time had to come, and yes with time it helps us to move on with life ... as tomorrow officially marks one year since your passing, the 18th was the last day me and you spent together...with so many thoughts going through my mind about then and now...this prayer still stands out to me...
Serenity Prayer-
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
Still missing you, love always, Alexis

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GAVYN!!!!!!

May 23, 2008
Happy Birthday! I plan on celebrating this day instead of taking it in sorrow. As always I am still missing Gavyn, but with life comes death, it's just the way it is and I've learned to accept that. The memories will always be close to my heart. So all, CELEBRATE! He would love to see us all have a good time, not just today but everyday!

I know you would be saying about right now, (if you were still here), "Come on Ms Morrison It is time to put out the porch furniture." I know how you liked to sit out on the porch. As another season arrives, I will be thinking of you as I put out the porch furniture.

The Williams Family miss you so much. It is hard to believe it has been 7 months since this occurred. We know you are having fun with you grandfather and uncle. Say hello to them from us. Calvin and Zayre think of you all the time and miss you very much. Hello Alexis, hope you are doing well and we know it is hard for you.
March 17, 2008
Just wanted to let you know you are on my mind, I see other people are still missing you too. Just the little things, we as humans can't help but take for granted. I so miss the little things, just the simple ones of having your presence. You were such a spirited man. People just don't understand sometimes how hard its been for me to deal with this and move on. But God put you in a better place and I can't be mad at that at all.
March 17, 2008
Hey! I always think of you and wish we had more times together. Gavin you were one of my favorite guy cousins. I do have plenty being the only female cousin growing up in both DC and AL. I know you are in good hands and I just wanted to say that even though you are gone you are definitely not forgotten. Love you
March 14, 2008
Hey boi!!! How are things?!?!? I know all is well....I haven't forgotten about you but at the same time you have slipped my mind. I just recently thought of you as I thought of another young individual who's life was cut short in the stupid streets of Washington, D.C.
Well just checkin on ya!! Hope all is swell....keep smiling for I already know that you are...Love ya!!

Gavyn,
I know by now you have met up with your uncle, Bubba. He was laid to rest at Fort Lincoln on 2/9/2008. Now heaven is your address, my father's address which Bubba is right next to him. We truly miss you and I just took down my christmas tree with your picture on top as an angel. Your brother understands what you mean now. Dorsey and CJ miss you also. We visited you last week and prayed at your site. See you.

Merry Christmas
I remember your first Christmas on Jefferson Street NE when I gave you this flying bumble bee and you were so happy along with Yndia and Patrice. Last night Calvin turned 11 years old and I know you would have said "man you are getting old and so am I". It was fun and I have you picture as the star on our Christmas tree. Everyone sends love and kisses. Missing you this Christmas. Talk to you later.........

Yes, Jesus loved him. Yes, Jesus loved him. Yes, Jesus loved him, for the Bible tells me so...Little ones to him belong, they are weak but he is strong !

Gavyn you are gone, but not forgotten. You had such an impact on so many who knew you. May the light of your life and memory continue to shine on. Boy, you are something else. Shine on.

I have been thinking about lately. Its weird how your departure has impacted me. I still continue to check up on all the wonderful things that people leave on your guestbook. For some reason, I still believe that its unreal. But of course, you are not here in flesh but in spirit. You are truly one of God's shining and inspiring angels. ttyl

Gavyn, you are surely missed. I think about you everyday and how you helped me through my sorrow when things were not going well for me. I remember the times we "church hopped" looking for the right place to settle. Calvin and I will always remember and miss you dearly. Thank-you Alexis Morrison for maintaining this lovely memorial in loving memory of my nephew "Gavyn". We love you.

I can't believe its been about a month now. Of course I'm still missing you. I know it takes time to heal and accept this great loss but its hard. I still think its you when my phone rings or when I have a missed call and even when there is a knock at the door. I miss you so much.

What a tragic loss of life. God only knows. His life was not in vain. All have memories of the times well spent in his presence. It was just his time to go. He will be forever missed and mourned.

It's hard losing someone you did everything with, a best friend, a brother. It's crazy we've gone through and survived so much together and this is how you go? I guess life is funny like that. We had so many plans and hopes for our future. But it's cool, we've done so much and had so much fun and learned so many lessons from each other and from our experiences that I have no regrets. You truly acheived the goal that we all internally aspire to reach, not having lots of money, a college degree or fame or any material gains ,but being a great human being. You forever live in my memories and my actions. Love ya bro.

Gavin, is my first cousin on my mother's side of the family and will always be! He was a great person, as a little boy growing up he use to clown around with me when I would come from Alabama and visit in the summers in DC with my Aunt D and Uncle Elliott. He was outgoing, very responsible, intelligent, and always having fun. He wanted more out of life than the average Joe. Gavin, didn't have a bunch of kids everywhere he was a positve role model. I was very proud of his accomplishments and he had a sense of humor that was out of this world. It hurts me to know he's gone physically but, he is and will forever live in my heart. I remember us hanging out for my birthday, and the family cookouts. I will never forget when he told me in June he was proud of me, but yet,I was the one that was proud of him! Gavin had an old soul at 25 I wish more young adults were like him. He loved meeting new people,his family, going to church, and aspiring to become a great young man. Gavin, you will be missed.
Your cousin,
Pauline morriso

What a hard time this has been for me and those who had the privilege of knowing Gavyn. His genuine loving, caring, and selfless spirit has personally touched my life. I thank God for bringing us together. As I have lost more than a boyfriend, I have lost my best friend and my companion. Heaven has truly gained a precious angel. Until we meet again, you will forever be in my heart, I love you always.

I can't comprehend the fact that you are gone. In my mind, it seems that you are just missing from the picture. Its been awhile since I last say you, but everytime we did run into each other, you were telling me of only good news. When I heard, I brushed it off for I knew there are a billion of people that go by the name of Elliot William. But as I now realize, there is only one real Elliot Williams. I know that you are totally out of harm and have nothing to fear. I will truly miss you but I shouldn't feel sad rather I should feel jealous for you are at your finally resting place with no worries at all. Lucky you!! Rest in peace Elliot...your memonry definitely lives on. Love ya!

Gavyn was a man of heart. He spoke what was on his heart and so he did what was on his heart. His opinions and querries were only unique unto him. He wanted to know what you thought and felt about things that concerned him.Last but not least, he gave his heart fully in love to my daughter, Alexis.
May his soul rest in peace.

I had the wonderful opportunity of being Elliott's Class Officer while he was training to be an MPD Police Officer. Thinking back on that makes me smile because Elliott would often crack me up. He was such a fine young man and I can't remember one time I saw a frown on his face. He was such a compassionate person and I'm so very sorry to hear of his passing. To the family, You have my deepest condolences and I am praying for your strength and healing during this very sorrowful time. May God Bless you.

It was a honor and great privilege to know Gavyn. His toothy grin and charismatic laughter were infectious!!! He was a wonderful, thoughtful and caring companion to my sister Alexis and a fantastic role model to my nephew Malik. Whenever I came home to visit, it was so much fun to see Gavyn to catch up on what was new in his life. He will be greatly missed...what an angel we all now have smiling down upon us!!
