Ms. Arnold - I am beyond heart broken. Words cannot describe the impact that you had in my life. Whether it be as having you as my 6th grade teacher, or a summer camp chaperone/counselor where we became friends despite not only our age difference and me still not able to speak English clearly then, or you filling in for my parents as a "legal guardian" to help me interview and get into Banneker - you changed my life. I would not be where I am at today without you and I owe you so much!
You took me as your very own and often referring to me as your "son". Your love, support, guidance and mentorship will always be eternal! I love you so much and although I will miss our monthly weekend phone calls I know you are watching over all of us. I will miss you so much Ms. Arnold but heaven certainly got one of its angels back home. Thank you for everything! May you rest in peace!

WOW, I´m so saddened to hear of the passing of Ms. Arnold. She was a true gem. Ms. Arnold was my 6th grade teacher at Neval Thomas elementary school and because of her I have memories that I would never forget. The memories of being selected by Ms. Arnold to be an exchange student for 2 weeks in Turkey back in 1989 will be cherished forever. To the family and friends of Ms. Arnold I would like to send my deepest sympathies and prayers.

Ernestine taught me a lesson that changed the way I see people. May her memory be a blessing.
