Frances Hurst Ballman "Frankie" (Age 92)

Frances "Frankie" Hurst Ballman passed away in her home on May 28, 2023 in Vero Beach, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Frankie was born February 13, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland, and was the daughter of Annie Potter Sprague Watson Hurst and John E. Hurst.

Frankie was known for her happy, generous, and loving nature. She was a supporter of the Florence Crittenton Home for unwed mothers (National Crittenton Foundation), the American Heart Association, the Young Woman's Club of Chevy Chase, Maryland, The Holton-Arms School, and the Landon School.

Frankie was an avid sportswoman and a lifelong competitor in tennis, golf, and skiing, competing at both Congressional Country Club and Grand Harbor in Vero Beach, Florida.

Frankie is survived by her husband of 64 years, George, her daughters, Debbie Ballman Jones (Randy), Lynda Hurst Ballman, Kimberly Ballman Stroud (Ted), and her son, Benedict George Ballman, Jr. (Kiersten), as well as her two brothers, John E. Hurst (Letty) and W. Bladen Lowndes III (Sally), and eight wonderful grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at Saint Francis Episcopal Church in Potomac on Wednesday, November 22 at 3 p.m. Reception will follow at Congressional Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Compassion International â€" Child Sponsorship Program (https://www.compassion.com/)
