My deepest condolences and prayers to Dr. Snowden's family. I graduated from Howard in 1983 and took one of Dr. Snowden's classes. I loved his teaching and enthusiasm, which was contagious. Out of all my Howard instructors, he left the most enduring memory. And I was one of many. I remember when former student Debbie Allen came to visit him, for example. I would sometimes think about Dr. Snowden and am glad to know he lived a long and rich life, and leaves a great legacy.

To the family of Dr. Snowden,
I wish to convey my condolences. May the strength of family, friends and the ancestors guide you through these times of sorrow.
I am a Howard graduate (1973) and former student of Dr. Snowden, having taken several Greek Literature classes under his guidance. I knew him as a very kind and caring professor, who had his students best interest at heart. I appreciate the time that I had with him, and the knowledge he so generously gave to me. He was a true pioneer in his field, and opened the doors for many to pursue the exploration of our history.
