FRANK VANDERHEYDEN Obituary


FRANK W. VANDERHEYDEN  Administrative Law Judge  
Judge Vanderheyden, a long-time Administrative Law Judge who retired from the Environmental Protection Agency in 1996, died on December 9, 2013 at home in Falls Church. He was 89 years old. He suffered from congestive heart failure. Judge Vanderheyden, who was born in New York City, received his bachelor's degree from New York University in 1950. He moved to Falls Church, VA in 1960 and received his law degree from Georgetown University in 1963. Judge Vanderheyden also served as an ALJ at the Merit Systems Protection Board and Department of Labor. He was Chief ALJ at the Interstate Commerce Commission. Prior to this he worked as an attorney for several federal agencies. During World War 11 he served both the U.S. Army and Air Force. He was member of Crossman Methodist Church in Falls Church, VA. He enjoyed reading history books. His wife of 53 years, Marion Wesley Vanderheyden died in 2008. He is survived by two children, John Vanderheyden of Vienna, VA and Dale Vanderheyden of Falls Church, VA. There will be no service.
