FRED FRISSELL Obituary

FRISSELL FRED F. FRISSELL, III Of Vienna, VA died on September 4, 2021. Born in Washington, DC to Doris and Fred Frissell, he spent his "growing up" years in Wheaton, MD. Fred joined IBM in 1967 in the Technical Publications Department. He spent a combined 37 years at IBM and Lockheed Martin until retiring in 2004 where he was a Program Manager with Federal Systems and was highly successful at resolving complex issues due to his keen analytical skills and ability to bring people together as a team. Fred was a huge Washington Nationals fan. He was a golfer. He was a runner and a thinker, doing his best thinking while running and would come home after a run with all kinds of ideas for work and play. He was an avid reader of suspense and science fiction. He loved to grill, the neighbors always knew when something smelled good that he was grilling. He enjoyed sitting on his deck with a glass of wine watching the birds, squirrels and chipmunks. He rescued birds and squirrels in the yard and took them to a place where they could recover or be put to rest. The beach was his happy place. He loved dogs. He had a great sense of humor and was oh, so smart. He enjoyed pedicures. He was a humble man, an honorable man, a man of integrity. He was a son, a husband, a father, a pop-pop, and a friend. He is survived by his mother, Doris of Silver Spring, MD; his devoted wife, Linda of Vienna, VA whom he met at IBM in 1989; his loyal companion and shadow, Teri; his sons, Michael (Penelope) of Chevy Chase, MD, Kevin (Katie) of Silver Spring, MD, Danny (Quinn) of Silver Spring, MD; his stepson, Scott (Emily) of Leesburg, VA; his adorable and brilliant grandchildren, Max and Marley and his special friends Bill, Pete and Dale. He was pre-deceased by his dad in 2012. Family and friends are invited to Fred's Life Celebration at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Saturday, September 18 from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any charity benefiting animals. Smile when you think of Fred because he would smile at a memory of all the people who had graced his life. Linda - sorry to read of Fred's passing. Saw it while online for another Obit. Remember my brief work in LM Springfield where talking to you and Judy was the highlight of the time there. Now in Naples, Florida. I share your grief, as my GF Susie passed 12/25/2015. Best of luck to you, and sorry for your loss.
