Dear Mrs. Carver: I am so sorry to hear about George. It has been such a long, long time since I have seen the family, but the warmth and comfort I found there, during the teenage years, will always stay with me. God bless you and your family.

To George Carver's Family and Friends,

While George was a guest in my home for several months last year, I was privileged to get to know a very kind and generous individual. We shared the love of books and travel and George could captivate the room during discussions of both. He treasured the opportunity to get some time to write "his book" which I am hoping he completed. I am sure that it would be well worth reading.

George's chapters are finished but I will forever treasure the times we found time in our schedules to talk about a number of historical and current affairs. He will surely be missed by those of us who got to know him.

Rest in Peace.

Dear Ruth – Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I have not seen George for decades, but this news left me with a profound sadness. I will always know and remember George from our shared youth. As you recall, many of those memories trend towards the epic. It sounds as though he found some peace the past few years, and it seems his family was largely the source of that. Well done. Love to you, David, Christopher, Douglas and Be-Rock.

I am shocked and saddened to hear the news that George has passed away. I have only seen him a few times since graduating from Langley but have thought of him often. On those few occasions,he seemed like the same old George. I am sorry for the Carver family's loss.
