I will always remember Mr. Duman for his kindness, patience, and good humor. I was his student near the middle of his career, but with his energy level, enthusiasm, and enjoyment of what he was doing, he always seemed like a young man to me.

Mr. Duman,
You ignited my passion for music and to this day I still have the same tunes playing in my head. I owe my successes thus far to your commitment and passion to the trade. My God keep you in his grace for every and may your life and time on earth live through those who you touched amen.

Mr. Duman, you were the reason I fell in love with the art of music (even though I cannot even read music). You were not only an incredible conductor who loved what he did, but an amazing mentor who was always there for me. When you left FHS, I knew it was not going to be the same. I dropped out of band once Middle School was complete for me because band was just not the same without you. I will miss you very much. You and your family remain in my thoughts and prayers. Having you as a band teacher during my 5th and 6th grade year was one of the most memorable experiences of my entire life. Rest in peace.

Mr.Duman was undoubtedly the best teacher that I ever had. He had a great sense of humor, genuine compassion, and He loved what he did. My oldest daughter was fortunate to experience his amazing style and good nature when she was in 8th grade. Uncle George, you touched so many lives, you will be truly missed by many.

There are few words that can describe how special Mr. Duman was to me, and how important he was in my life: he was a teacher, mentor, inspiration, and so much more. As a young student in the fifth grade, he took me in, guided me, and showed me the world of music and the trumpet, and continued to teach and nurture me as I grew - because of him, I played at a district and even state level, and am now playing in college. Simply put, if not for Mr. Duman, I would be a completely different person, and would not have found one of my life's greatest passions. Mr. Duman, thank you for everything you have done for me - you will be greatly missed. I think about you every time I play.

RIP George. I didn't know you personally, however my children were in Edison high school band. Tell Dan Ebling hello for me he was my sons favorite teacher and Edison's band director from 1997 to 2006

Mr. Duman taught two of our daughters when they were at Kilmer. Their band experience under his leadership was terrific! Rest in peace, Mr. Duman

We're so sorry to hear about Gene's death. We remember all of the great times that we had at Peabody and in our early married years. He died too young and will be missed.

Mr. Duman was a great man, and importatnt influence on many young lives. He took great interest in making sure I turned into a good person and better man. He will be missed. As I never took up music as a child, I know that he has guided and shaped many great musicians. Chris being one, and even Eric before him.
