On Thursday, September 28, 2006, COL. GEORGE EDEL GILBERT, U.S. Air Force, Ret., formerly of Silver Spring, MD., more recently a resident of Woman's Mill Community, Frederick, died at Heartfields of Frederick. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Eleanor Sigler Gilbert, of Frederick; five children, Monica Tague (Dennis), Pounding Mil, VA, Gail Pearson (Helmer), of Sharpsburg, MD, Amand Neff (William), of Walkersville, MD, Jonathan Gilbert (Julie), of Raleigh, NC, and Elizabeth Angel (Brian), of Ellicott City; and ten grandchildren. Memorial services will be annouced later and interment with full military honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Fort Myer, Virginia.
