GUSTAV S. FAEDER

GUSTAV SILAS FAEDER (Age 92)  
Gus Faeder, a devoted family man and World War II veteran, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Marjorie, his loving wife of 69 years, his three children, other family members, and his good friend, Cherinor, were at his side. He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Sara (Dave), David (Rebecca) and Andrea (David); his eight grandchildren, Brian, Laura, Lindsay, Eric, David, David, Michael and Christopher and his great-grandson, Aidan. Born in New York on March 30, 1921, Gus graduated from North Adams State Teachers' College (North Adams, MA). He received his Master's degree from Columbia University (New York City, NY). Gus was a World War II veteran who, as captain of PT Boat 542, served in the South Pacific. After the war, he settled in Vienna, VA, where he raised his family and worked for the CIA. After retiring, Gus pursued Civil War research and became an avid writer. He was a published author of several magazine articles and an historical Civil War novel. He was also a weekly newspaper columnist for the Chester Village News, in Chester, VA. A memorial service will be held at MONEY & KING FUNERAL HOME, 171 W.
