SORROW
We cried and wept, and wept and cried
We felt the light within us die -
The hole where our hearts lay was raw inside -
Dear Lord above, we ask you why?
On the floor our hearts lie in pieces crushed,
All stands still, all is hushed.
In the half light, half shade of the night -
Tears are shed, there is no respite.
Soft moaning noises our throats escape,
Who can we find to heal the ache?
No spring in our step or sparkle to eye,
No song of joy just we question why?
The hole in our hearts has bled and bled,
Our souls lie trampled in the ashes instead.
No song of the bird, no swim of the swan -
What has happened? What has gone wrong?
The sun comes up, the sun goes down,
Like puppets we try to forget and move on,
But the cup that is given is a bitter one,
Dear Lord we pray, make us strong.
Our precious son, the best father, friend, brother, uncle, all attest to your gentleness, kindness and love for life. We were a unit, we will never be whole again. Taken from us so suddenly, we love you and just know where you are now, there is peace. And we would choose you, in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, we would find you and we would choose you! Heartbroken, Mom, Pa and family x x x
