Jerry Cohen Obituary
Jerry attended the University of Maryland, later serving in the US Army as a Supply Sergent in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Jerry began his life-long career in the car business at Handley Ford in Washington, DC in 1955, putting license plates on cars and later becoming the General Manager. After 19 years at Handley, he opened Jerry's Ford in Annandale, VA on July 11, 1973, which was the beginning of the legendary Jerry's Automotive Group. Jerry was well-known for his popular ad campaign "Let the Competition Beware".
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at King David Memorial Gardens in Falls Church VA, on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 1 p.m. Shiva will be held at the Cohen Residence in Potomac, MD and is by invite only.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (www.michaeljfox.org). Services entrusted to Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care.

Mr. Cohen was the best owner that I ever worked for. he always had kind words for his employees. First year I worked there not even three months, he gave me a Christmas bonus that was so surprising that I never got from two other dealers that I worked for. Rest In Peace Mr. Cohen, God sure did get a wonderful Angel in you. Until we meet again in the mansion in the sky.

Jerry was not only a relative of mine, but a true friend. I purchased a Ford Aerostar from him at his dealership Jerry's Ford many years ago. I knew his parents, (my Aunt Jean and Uncle Dave) and have many stories to tell of my visits with the family. Rest in Peace my friend.

I worked at Jerry´s Ford in the early 80´s as a sales rep. Great boss to work for. Turns out my grandfather bought cars from Jerry and rented an apartment to him.

I am Jerry´s first cousin. He was the most generous, loving charismatic person. Growing up together in Brooklyn, New York we will always together being brought up like brother and sister rather than cousins. He was my protector.
