John Bogle Obituary
JOHN BRUNER BOGLE "Jack" (Age 89)
On Thursday, March 8, 2012. He was a long time resident of Alexandria, VA. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and lived in Atlantic City, NJ for six years, before moving to Washington, DC. He lived in the Chevy Chase area where he attended grammar and junior high school. He was a 1941 graduate of Fishburne Military School. He served in the Navy in the Pacific area during WWII. Mr. Bogle worked for his father, Ralph H. Bogle, Sr. at the R. H. Bogle Company, which was a railroad weed and brush control applicator. He served as the company Secretary and President, until the company was sold in 1985. Jack was an active member of the Rotary Club of Alexandria and past president since 1955. He was an avid golfer and member of the Retired Men's Golf Association. He was a member of Belle Haven Country Club for 53 years. He leaves two daughters, Nancy Fife (Michael) and Jacqueline Meuse (Joe); one son, Bob Bogle (Christi); and eight grandchildren, Justin Bogle, Blair Bogle, Samantha Mogul, Douglas Fife, Alexandra Fife, Michael Fife Jr., Bo Meuse and Hunt Meuse. He was predeceased by his son, Douglas Bogle. A funeral will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Alexandria, VA on Thursday, March 15 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, Alexandria, VA on Wednesday, March 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Rotary Club of Alexandria Foundation.www.everlyfuneralhomes.com
