JOHN MIKK Obituary
John Mikk, Sr. (Age 80)
John Mikk, Sr., of Brinklow, MD passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, January 23, 2022. He was born in Estonia and came to the United States at the age of 8 with his parents and brothers. They settled in New York and later moved to Connecticut. John attended the University of Connecticut and earned a degree in Accounting and then his Masters of Accounting from the George Washington University. He met his wife Elaine while in Connecticut and they moved to Maryland where they started their family. John was a practicing CPA until 1983 when he and Elaine started their family owned business Cabinet Discounters and then Creative In Counters and Brighton Cabinetry. John was an entrepreneur and risk taker. He was extremely generous and was very proud of the success of his companies. John is survived by his wife Elaine of 58 years. Children John Mikk, Jr., Darrin Mikk, Lisa Bichner, their spouses and nine grandchildren. Brothers Enn Mikk and Mati Mikk. The family will be holding a private celebration of life.

Although I never met John, his brother Enn and I were friends, roommates and raced our sail boat on American Lake in the State of Washington while we served in the Army (1966-1969). Enn often spoke highly of his brother and the rest of the Mikk family.

Elaine, John, Darrin, and Lisa (and the rest of your family),
I was shocked to see John's obituary in the newspaper. John was a truly wonderful man and I have so many fun memories of us being together, especially in your basement in Olney.
