JUNE BASHKIN Obituary
June Cyrus Bashkin
On June 7, 2018 of Washington, DC, born February 5,1926, wife of the late Henry Bashkin. June was born on a farm in Scio, Oregon and was the only child of Myrtle and Merle Cyrus. She graduated from Oregon State University in 1947. She worked with Oregon Senator Neuberger, and earlier was assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen. Active in many local service organizations her entire life, a charter member of the Seymour Club, June will be remembered by her friends and family for her intelligence, curiosity, fundamental kindness to everyone she met and for her dazzling smile and shining personality. June will be interned at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Funeral Arrangements by DeVol.

June was married to my mother's cousin Henry. I met June late in her life; she was gracious and kind and smart, a lovely woman. I wish I'd met her sooner.

I met this extraordinary women through my friendship with her cousin, Jason Barabba. As fascinated as I was by the life she led, she was equally interested in mine. Her ability to make people feel special was a part of her own charm. She was, and always will be, simply grand.
