Kenneth Mangum Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kenny (Kenneth) Mangum, lovingly known to those close to him as "Pops," on December 17, 2025. He passed peacefully at his home in Virginia Beach, surrounded by his family.
Pops is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Margaret Mangum; his children, Kristie Mangum, Laurie (Tommy) McLane and Billy (Christy) Mangum; and his cherished grandchildren, Chance McLane, Madi Mangum, Justin Best, Lindsey (Haydon) Burch, and great-grandchildren Haydon Jr. and Dawson Burch. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Guern and Wanda Pate.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy R. Mangum and Hester "Billie" Mangum. Pops was born on September 3, 1950, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy, stationed at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek. Following his military service, he went on to work in Washington, DC, for the Teamsters Union. He later became self-employed as a "Kenny" of all trades, working for businesses and individuals alike, applying his perfectionism and skill to countless projects and maintenance needs.
Pops was an avid Washington Nationals fan and had a lifelong love for bowling, an activity he greatly enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Above all, he was a devoted family man and a natural storyteller whose humor and laughter filled every room. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Private service.
Until we meet again — "Bye, see ya!"
