LaRee was my neighbor for many years at the condo on the lake. We regularly had lake/community clean up days. Many of us would get into the lake to pull out just about anything. LaRee came out one time with the cart she would use for grocery store trips. She said, "I may not be able to help in the lake, but I can haul trash!" And haul she did, like a 20 year old kid. back and forth to the garbage dumpster - and of course, smiling the entire time. She remains a blessing to all.

Aunt LaRee is so special to my dad, Kay. She has been such a wonderful sister to him. He loves her so much. It was always so fun for him to be able to come and stay with her and Uncle Bruce. In these later years he has looked forward to their phone calls. I will miss her as well. I loved sharing a name with her. She always made me feel loved whenever we would talk. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. We wish you could be there with you.
Love,
Katie

Dear Root Family,
LaRee was the best sister I could have every asked for. She will be missed by all who knew her. Living close to her (and all of you) in Virginia was a highlight in the lives of our family. It was a time we grew closer and will never forget. Know you are all in our prayers as you go through the coming days of remembering the great woman she was and the love she had for life and all of you.

To my dear cousins and families,
My heart is aching for you all as I know how difficult it is to lose your mother. She was a great lady and such a wonderful sister to my father, Kay. She was such a strength to our family when our mother passed away. I cherish the memories I have of all the stories I heard about our childhoods together as our mothers were those stalwart military wives. I wish I could take away the pain this loss brings but please know that there is peace to come and she is with those she loves who have gone on before.
