Larry was born January 21, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, and as a child was a parishioner and altar boy at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church on the South Side of Chicago. He entered Mount Carmel College Seminary in Niagara Falls, Canada in 1944. Upon graduation, he joined the Carmelites and was ordained a Carmelite Priest in 1956, taking the religious name Malcolm. He continued his education at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC while he lived at White Friars Hall in Washington, DC. Larry left the priesthood in 1958 and married Joyce Elaine Cocimano. He served five years in the Army and was a trained linguist and translator in Arabic. In 1962, he began part-time work as a Home Teacher for Home and Hospital Instruction in the Prince George's County Public School System (PGCPS) in Maryland. In July of 1969, Larry was appointed the Coordinator for Home and Hospital Teaching. Larry devoted much of his life to ensuring that all Prince George's County children were provided a quality public school education. He retired from teaching in 1999. While he always remained committed to the Catholic community, he devoted the last twenty-three years of his life to Catholic fellowship and Bible Study within various parishes, especially St. Hugh of Grenoble Catholic Church in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Larry is survived by his ex-wife, Joyce Elaine Yore of Crofton, Maryland, and their four children and their spouses, Kathy and Steve Ernest of Owings, Maryland, Robert Yore and Sara Bove, of Pikesville, Maryland, John and Susan Yore of Olney, Maryland, Lawrence and Marie Bidondo-Yore of Palos Verdes Estates, California as well as Larry's ten grandchildren, Brandon and Bradley Ernest of Owings, Maryland, Brian Ernest of Salem, Massachusetts, Gabrielle and John Patrick Yore of Olney, Maryland and Salvatore, Jean Pascal, Julianna, Dominic and Francesca Bidondo-Yore of Palos Verdes Estates, California. Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Yore, Father Lambert Yore O Carm., William Yore, Edward Yore and sisters, Rosemary Grice, Anna Cecilia O'Day, and Patricia Vonch as well as his parents, John Ignatius Yore and Anna Cecilia Berg Yore, all of whom he loved dearly.

Larry was a shining star in overseeing the needs of children requiring home and hospital instruction. He hired the best of professionals to provide the services and provided great support for his staff. He was definitely an asset to the Prince George“s County Public School System and I am blessed to have had the honor of working with him in the Special Education Department for thirty years. May Larry Rest in Eternal Peace.
