GRISWOLD MARC SCOTT GRISWOLD Marc Scott Griswold, 46, of Severna Park, MD, died suddenly from complications of diabetes on November 10, 2014 at Riverside Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, Virginia. Marc was born to his parents, Steven and Doris Griswold on March 26, 1968 in Baltimore and was raised in Severna Park. He attended St. John the Evangelist School and graduated from Archbishop Spalding High School in 1986, where he played lacrosse. Marc earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Emergency Medicine at George Washington University and also achieved an advanced Doctorate Degree in Naturopathic Medicine. While in college, he worked as a Police Officer in Ocean City, MD. Mr. Griswold was formerly employed by the U. S. Government as a Special Agent for the United States Secret Service. In addition, he was a Special Agent for the Department of Energy, the FDA, and the Department of Defense (U.S. Army-CID). He worked as a Trauma Technician at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and as a Pediatric Paramedic for the Johns Hopkins Hospital. His service as a Special Agent took him to five continents, living in Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Grafenwoehr, Germany, and Severna Park. In his earlier days, he was the lead singer in the rock band, Triton. Marc was an Expert Marksman and Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedic. He served as an EMT/Firefighter for the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Department in Severna Park and as a Volunteer Paramedic for Queen Anne's County, MD. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, boating, fishing, and mostly, spending time with his family and taking them on countless unique adventures. As a dedicated father, he strived to provide his children with numerous life experiences, serving as a self-proclaimed travel expert and possessing a very creative sense of humor. In addition to his parents, Marc is survived by his children, Samantha, Jake, and Drew Griswold, all of Severna Park; his siblings, Jim Griswold (Cheryl) of Laguna Niguel, CA, Karen Griswold of Severna Park, and Matt Griswold of Severna Park; as well as, his former wife, Allison Wallop Griswold, also of Severna Park. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit on Friday, November 14th, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A private interment will be held at Wachapreague Cemetery in Virginia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made at Bank of America to the Educational Trust - Samantha Griswold, Jacob Griswold, and Andrew Griswold.
