When you lose someone you love what moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we knew you were getting tired. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. God saw your struggle and told you to come home your mission is complete. We begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us soooo many memories to ever forget you. You was the true definition of a real man through and through. I will truly miss saying “Hi granddaddy” and him responding “How do you do”. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

I Miss You, I Love You and You will Always Remain in My Heart Granddaddy

Daddy you were always there for my siblings and me. My life is devoid without you in it. You were my teacher, my counselor, my advisor and sometimes my banker. I will never forget your words of advice whenever I came to you with a problem. You will always be the best part of me. My heart has a hole in it due to your passing. You were a one in a million Dad. Everyone how has every known you were lucky because you were one of a kind. You know the saying that goes when they made me they broke the mold, well that statment holds true for my Father. He was truely a unique man, a understanding husband, and a Great Father. Love you Daddy always.

There aren't many people in this world that can say they had their great-grandfather as a part of their life for 32 years. But I am definitely blessed to say, I was one of those people. There are many things about you that I will miss, like…speaking to you as I pass by saying, “Hey Granddaddy” and hearing your faithful response, “How do you DO”!?!. I will miss your joyful whistling as you walked about the house as well as hearing you call me Peanut as only you did. Love you GRANDADDY and always will!

You were the glue that held us all together; I don't know how we are going to get along without you Granddaddy; for you to me, were the Head and my Father was the tail of the coin in my life, not sure how I'll get through not having both of you around any longer, but we all will continue to just take things one day at a time. I miss you so much because you were the one who told me to keep singing when everyone told me to shut up growing up and look at what I have acheived now. We are all grateful to have had you in our life; and, now know that we have someone up there putting a good word in for all of us. :-)

To live 95 years and share so much love and wisdom to those you love is a blessing especially to all of us you help raised. We love you and will always have you in our hearts. You've been the backbone to this family, guiding us and encouraging us to accomplish anything we put our minds to. You set the standard for family love and made sure that we all have that sense of how important it is to stay together. I love you and this family, because no matter what each of us has done or not done, when we get together there is nothing but unconditional love and support that is in the room. You will forever be in my heart Granddaddy.

My Uncle Mac - " A Phenomenal Man"

My Uncle Mac was a phenomenal man. A greater man there will NEVER be....

He had 14 children 12 girls and 2 boys, he was a Husband, Father, Brother, Granddad, Great Granddad, Great-Great Granddad he had 13 nieces and nephews in which one included me...

Uncle Mac lived a beautiful life, he was with us for 95yrs. But the good Lord whispered in his ear and said "Come With Me McClellan" and whiped away his tears....

His children were his joy. He lovingly called them "clowns" but he made sure he was there when they wore their caps and gowns....

I remember when he played the trombone, he was prooud to play in a band. I remember when he worked for the Washington Post, now his son is taking the stand....

Uncle Mac, please tell our family we all said hello, and one day we will meet again, we only hope we will leave like you, with a peaceful heart and very little pain....

We all came today to say goodbye, We all have something to share,

We all know where you are going, Uncle Mac and only "Angels" live there....

He left us so suddenly, he didn't even say goodbye....

Uncle Mac was a peaceful man, and like the bible says

"So You Live - So You Shall Die"

I write this poem for my Uncle Mac

"A PHENOMENAL MAN"

I will always LOVE YOU!!!!!

Poem, Grandfather

Generous Loving Man
Rendering his Love & care wherever he can
Allowed God into his life everyday
Never stop believing in what he say.
Dad, granddad, husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend
Forever in our hearts and
Adored by many women and men
Taken from us for an eternal sleep in
Harmony we will come together for
Everybody knows now we can
Rest in peace.

Mr J, thank you for sharing with me one of your most prized possessions, your first born son Joe. This is someone you showed how to love, to protect and to value his family. Most of all, you showed him how to be a man and in turn he has shown his children that same path to manhood. For this I thank you again. I will miss answering the phone and you asking me, "Is this Joe's wife?" You will truly be missed.

Uncle/Granddad,

I grew up calling you granddad even though you were my uncle, but you treated me as if i was your grandson. I have so many great many memories of coming down the basement and just sitting and talking with you. I remember seeing you walking (very fast i might add), and you would see me and stop to talk to me for a minute or 2, telling me not to get in any trouble up at the park -:). And the several times you told me how much i look like your brother Wilbur (my grandfather). I loved you then and will continue to love you still.

Hey Granddad,

As I sit here writing this, the tears are flowing. They are tears or happiness and sadness. I'm happy because I know you are with your Father being the angel he has called you home to be, but I'm sad because I physically want you here with us knowing you will be sitting in your chair watching tv in the basement. I remember when I was younger and my dad taking me down to see you and how scared I used to be. As I got older, I enjoyed coming down, but it had been a while since my last visit down there. I'm so sorry for not coming to visit you. You were my only grandfather I actually had a relationship with and I miss you dearly. I was sooo happy in 2000 when you came to my high school graduation cookout. That made my day. I love you granddad! Please continue to watch over us and one day we will see you again. And please hug and kiss Grandma Genny for me and tell her I love and miss her dearly too.
Until we meet again.......

XOXOXOXO

Granddaddy,

I Love you and Miss you so much that it hurts my heart to not have you here on earth with me today. I know that it was time for you to have your wings as an angel in heaven but you were already and angel here on earth. You could always count on me and I could always count on you. (Picking Up Your Coke-a-Cola Soda from CVS on Sale)
Thinking back I really appreciate all the things you have done and instill in our family. We were all called the Johnson Children no matter what our last name was. Growing up in the house with you was such a delight. We all had to sit at the table together and eat dinner and afterwards you always had some kind of dessert for us like Peanuts, Cashews, Popcorn, Candy and ect. You would look at Johnnie Carson and laugh so loud that we would laugh just because you were laughing. You would wake Karen, Yogi and Me up in the middle of the night because we didn't do all the dishes in the sink or moped the kitchen floor. When ever any of us would hurt ourselves, you were there with the First Aid/Medical Kit. You always took care of us. You were the rock and the protector of our Family. 95 years with 5 generation of Love, Laughter and Living. I just want to say Thank You. Thank You for all of your hard work, Thank You for raised 15 children. Thank You for keeping a Roof over our heads. Thank You for instilling Morals and Values in our lives. Thank you for tell us that nothing in life is free and we half to work hard for anything that we want. I just wanted to say THANK YOU GRANDDADDY FOR BEING THE BEST GRANDDAD IN THE WORLD!

I Love You and Miss You Always.

Grandaddy, The Lord seen you were tired so he took you home for your eternal rest. It hurts us all to not have you here physically, but spiritually you will continue to live through us all. I still think about when we used to come down stairs for peanuts or candy, and I can still picture you sitting in you chair reading the paper. Thank you for being the family man & the man of God that we all need in our lives. Continue to look down on us, bless us, and keep your angel wings wrapped tight around our ENTIRE FAMILY. I love you and miss you dearly. And can you please hug & kiss my Grandma Frances for me please. Thank You again for ALL you've done for EVERYBODY.

"Grandad" Today is 2/22/2012. There's not a moment that goes by that I don't think of you. It's still hard to beleive that a month ago today was your last day on earth with us. Although you are no longer in pain and you are now above smiling down us it still hurts knowing that you are no longer here. I'm just thankful that you were able to see me play football, meet my 5 year old, and to also listen to the countless stories of how each of your kids had a nickname because they were hard headed. I will aso never forget that day you looked me dead in my eyes and called me Bernard and then when I corrected you, 10 minutes later you called me Joe. I still laugh at that to this day. Columbia Rd will be different knowing that you aren't there as downstairs was usually the first place we all went we came there. Thanks for giving me a dad who's loving and understanding. And also thanks for everything you've done to shape and mold the JOHNSON family. I will always love you and miss you and until we meet again, tell my grandmother Cuthbertson I said hello and that her grandson misses her dearly as well. Love, David Johnson Jr

Granddad,

I am so thankful that God Blessed me with you for 49 years of my life. You have been such an inspiration to me. You were my example of how to be a man of God and to simply be a man who takes care of his family. You were a father figure, grandfather, mentor and role model. I always looked up to you and admired you for your God given abilities to touch lives and see the good in everyone. You were always there for me from attending Boys Club football games, CYO basketball games, H.S. and College games and even when I was playing professionally. I always knew that if you could make it, you would be there. Not to mention the HS football games you attend when I was coaching. I cannot thank you enough for the support and love you gave me throughout the years. God knew what he was doing when he took you and I am just so thankful for the example you were for me and our family. I know because of you, I am the man I am today. I just pray the through the duration of my life, I can make you proud because I lived my life right. You will forever be missed, but never forgotten. I will always carry you in my heart and in my thoughts.

Dad, thanks for being the best father anyone could ever ask for. Because of who you were I learned how to be the best mother/grandmother I could be. You were always there for me especially when i had Keisha. I remember when Keisha was a baby and she would start crying you would always come in and hold her until she stopped crying and went back to sleep. I will never forget all the things you did for me and taught me. You were the perfect roll model for us all. I truly miss you and you will forever be in my heart. I know you are in heaven looking down on us smiling saying look at those knuckel heads. :-) Love you forever your daughter Ronnie.
