Mike--You were always one of my favorite people in high school (Langley). You were such a kind kid and just as great a man, when last I saw you at a class reunion.

I had wanted to get in touch with you when a fellow classmate told me of your tragic passing. I will always be sorry I didn't get a chance to see you again.
Much love-Cindy

It was a shock to open the George Mason University alumni magazine yesterday and learn of Mike's passing. We met on the Mason Varsity Fencing team in 1982-3. I liked Mike from the start as he was so laidback about things where I was the opposite, and he had an enjoyment of life and living in the moment. He taught me to enjoy the sport of fencing and to relax in matches which really helped me develop into a better saber fencer. We had so much fun going to matches and Mike being part of the group made it more fun. I last saw Mike at graduation at Mason in 85 and lost touch after that as I went into the Marine Corps and I did not know what became of Mike. I can see by what others have written of Mike that he continued to be the fun, free spirit he was on those fencing road-trips and at college. I regret not keeping in touch with such a nice guy as I'm sure my he could have added more to my life these past 25 years. Condolences to his family and friends that knew him more recently. I can only hope to see him in Heaven someday soon.

I'll post more on my Facebook page in a note. But I loved MIke. We have been friends since 5th grade and I will miss him terribly. I hadn't seen him since 1999 as I live overseas and I couldn't get him to the places I live. But we spoke a few times in recent years and as soon as we do, it's like time and distance disappear. This explains why I just found out and I'm devestated. But Mike lived his life to the fullest, as he chose (random or pre-destined?) and he'll always be with me. I have a notebook full of memories, he will continue to live on in those of us who loved him.

Mike -- We all miss you, especially your moneky nephews. I just, today, had the courage to ask Martin to get a charger for your ipod. I will listen to your music tonight and think of you. We love you and miss you. Love, Kris, Martin and Miss Kiki (and the monkeys... which makes you a monkey's uncle!)p.s. you would get a kick out of this... Luke was afraid of the thunderstorms a couple of days ago and would not go to bed.
He claimed that he was "thunder-intolerant" and thus could not be held responsible. May God bless the little bugger.

mike was such a wonderful friend to me, my "adopted" big brother. i've had some of the best times with him. he was such a hilarious volleyball player. i'll really miss his back-handed-tinkerbell-spike. i'll even miss all the wise cracks he'd dish up for me. we've had so many laughs together whether we were schooling another team at billiards, talkin' smack to each other as he whooped me at golden tee, beating him at silver strike, trying to armbar him as i practice my jiu-jitsu on him in the middle of a party, or just talking and enjoying our beers at the bar. he was a really good listener. i'll also really miss the rides on his motorbike. couldn't believe he drove his car like he was 80 yet rode his bike like he was 18! i'm so lucky to have so many great memories of him, like the time we took my dog, sushi, out for a 3 mile rollerblade around lake zurich. i told him it would be a tough trail since the sidewalks were so old, but everyone knows how mike takes advice. we laughed so hard half a dozen times as he crashed and burned at every incline! he was such a fun person to be with. he will try anything! i just loved watching him enjoy life to the fullest. it was just contagious, and i thank him for it. he had such a beautiful soul. i love him and miss him so very much! my heart really goes out to all the lives he's touched.

I new Mike from the Roselle volleyball league he attended, and also through mutual friends. He always had a smile and a good word for everyone, people like that are few and far between in this world. He will be missed!!

I only met Mike once when he visited Henry Ford Hospital to investigate a problem we were having with our computers. He left a lasting impression. He was smart, funny, and I truely enjoyed our political discussions. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Mike did not want to be confused with all the other "Mikes" on our meetup social groups so, he chose the name "Dramon Falling" for his meetup name. When I asked Mike why he goes by "Dramon" he told me that Dramon means "Random", which turned into the meetup nickname that I gave him with the Flash Bar Mob group. Mike was the original organizer of the Flash Bar Mob meetup group that I now organize. I will always remember the laughs we had while enjoying a cold beer, and how he announced "Service!" every time before serving in volleyball. Mike was a cool guy and will be missed. My deepest regards go out to Mike's family and friends.

Mike was one of my favorite people in and outside of Siemens. I will miss your smile and your great sense of humor. He was always saying "I'm not the social director" but the truth is - people loved being around him, I know I did.

I enjoyed playing sports with Mike and hanging out with him after the games. At the sidelines we would have a beer and share "Saab-Stories" and other nonsense. My sympathies are with his family and friends.

I worked with Mike at Siemens. Our paths didn't cross too much in the office, but I saw him often outside of work since we lived in the same area of Palatine. I used to see him often at local wine tastings and we always took the time to talk a little bit. It won't be the same going to the tastings not seeing Mike. My sincerest condolences to the family.
