NATHAN ROBERT ACKERMAN
On Monday, January 11, 2016, NATHAN ROBERT "Bob" ACKERMAN (Age 100) of Chevy Chase, MD, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his children. Served as a B-26 bombardier with the 344th bomb group. Flew 66 missions inclusive of D-day. Awarded the Purple Heart and numerous other air medals. Opened A&R Auto Parts in 1949 and served the Washington, D.C. community for 60 years. Beloved husband of the late Muriel Ackerman. Devoted father of Michael and Richard (Ilene) Ackerman, Joanne (Arnold) Kieffer and Nancy (Michael) Krzyzanowski. Dear brother of Lester (Leona) Ackerman. Loving grandfather of Evan, David, Sara, Jacob, Adrienne, Olivia, Alisa, Tasha, Ace, Hannah and Mikey. Great - grandfather of two. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016, 11 a.m. at King David Memorial Garden, Falls Church, VA. After the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at the late residence, and also on Saturday evening and Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the 344th Bomb Group Association. Arrangements entrusted to TORCHINSKY HEBREW FUNERAL HOME, 202-541-1001 (endorsed by The Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington).

This man was immaculate. Loved by the world. Thank you for showing me and teaching me my favorite game (Golf). Every time I step on the golf course it is you that will be thought of, and I'm sure watching me play. Your awesome. I love u Pop.
