I just learned of Father Kemp's passing. Our thoughts and prayers go to all his family. He was the most caring, gentle. understanding person I have ever met. We knew him through all his years at St. Edwards.
He will be greatly missed.

It was always so heartwarming to hear Father Kemp speak of his mother. Her memory touched him so. I know that she was there to guide him to the gates of heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Father Kemp was my pastor at St. Edward's in Bowie, and he was the celebrant at my wedding. He was the kindest, most caring man, and I feel honored and blessed that he played such an important part in my life. He will be greatly missed.

Our entire family is saddened to learn of Father Kemp's passing. He will always have a special place in our hearts. Ft. Kemp married us 25 years ago, baptized our two children and presided over the funeral of our beloved Grandma Cullen. Always quick with a story, joke and a twinkle in his eye, he will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

I just learned of Father Kemp's death through an email from a Heritage Harbor resident -- we usually play for the monthly Heritage Harbour First Friday Masses that Father Kemp has been celebrating (he plays the violin and I, the piano). Father Kemp was one of the kindest people ever, and I'm sure he's a saint in heaven now. I'm sorry I don't think I will make the funeral tomorrow though I would like to.

As my sister, Patty, has already stated, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We all have so many memories of growing up in Washington and remember fondly the times when our lives were touched by Fr. Pat. May memories of Fr. Pat's love and life surround you and bring your comfort today and in the years to come. God bless you all!

I write to you with a heavy heart on behalf of all the Deane family. Please accept our sincere prayers and condolence wishes...you lovingly shared your brother/uncle with so many of us long-time Washingtonians over the years, and we, like you, will miss our Fr. Pat. Fr. Kemp was our parish priest as we grew up in St. Edward's in Bowie and celebrated many sacraments and other family celebrations with him. There are few individuals I know that are as deeply loving and devoted to family. I will really miss him.

Father Pat as I called him over 40 + years ago at Holy Name Church in Washington, DC. We thought we were special kids calling the Father by his first name, but that was the kind and loving person I remember as a child. Just know we are thinking about you. Theo, Glen, and Tom.

Father Kemp officiated at the renewing of our wedding vows of 50 years this past August. He was such a delight and made the event very special.
Father Montgomery who passed away married us at the Nativity Church in 1958,. Father Kemp mentioned him in our ceramony that he was honored to step in for Father Montgomery.
Father Kemp will be missed he was truly a gentlemen and a scholar.

My condolences, love and prayers go out to all of Fr. Kemp's dearly loved family members. His kind spirit, deep devotion to his faith, and love for his mother, was evident from my first meeting with him for our marriage preparation 28 years ago at St. Edward. I have been blessed to have Fr. Kemp preside at our marriage, baptize our children, instruct me in my RCIA preparation, and to be a part of our spiritual family at Holy Family. His delightful, loving presence will be greatly missed.

I always told Father Kemp that he was the "Best Part of My Day". He always repsonded with "Thank you Dear Heart". I will miss our hugs, kisses on the cheeks and laughter. He particiapted in the renewal of my vows last year for my 25th Anniversary and was a true delight to all the guests at the reception. His smile brightened even the darkest day and he was truly LOVED by many. Rest in peace dear Father Patrick and know that you made the world a better place to be.

Father Kemp was a close friend with my family in Georgetown. He was very helpful when he aided in the celebration of my marriage over 27 years ago when he had to stand in at the rehersal the night before. He will be greatly missed by myself and my wife Theresa.
