PATRICK JOSEPH McCANN  
September 14, 1947 - January 10, 2022  Patrick McCann died Monday, January 10 from complications following aortic surgery. He was cherished as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor, coach, and friend. His greatest joys in life were his wife of 50 years, Barbara; his children Erin (Fran��ois), Dora, and Brendan (Sarah); and his grandchildren Sebastien, Caroline, Camille, and Madison.  Pat graduated from Ithaca College (BS) and Cornell University (MBA). He met Barbara in Chicago while in VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America). He was a senior analyst at the Congressional Budget Office and Chief Clerk of the U.S. Senate Transportation Committee before founding McCann Capitol Advocates, a transportation lobbying firm. His recognized expertise in transportation policy and funding and the budget process garnered the respect of members of both political parties. He was a mentor to many, sharing his knowledge and advice with wisdom and humor. After retirement, Pat loved tending his orchids, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Pat lived his life with grace and love. He will be remembered for his smile, wonderful sense of humor, unfailing positive attitude, his warmth, and his generosity and kindness. "A thing of beauty is a joy forever. Its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness." Patrick's life and soul were things of beauty. He will be greatly missed. Viewing at Money & King Funeral Home, Vienna, VA will take place on Friday, January 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church in McLean, VA at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 15.
