On April 8, 2021, Phyllis Rand (nee Kaminetzky) of Silver Spring, MD; cherished and devoted mother of Rachelle "Shelley" (Jeff Lowinger) of North Potomac, MD and David (Suzanne) Rand, of Bethesda, MD; beloved grandmother to Matthew Lowinger and Ellie Rand; loving sister to Jerry (Gigi) Kaminetzky of Boca Raton, FL and Lee (Genia) Kaminetzky of Teaneck, NJ; and beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held privately. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to either the Jewish Residents of Leisure World, Montgomery Hospice or American Cancer Society. I worked with Phyllis at Call For Action. She was a dedicated Volunteer who was always eager to help a consumer in need. A totally selfless individual, Phyllis was always more interested in what others had to say, rather than talk about herself. I had not seen her since the pandemic, but I treasured the conversations we had about life. She was a real joy to be around and I miss her. My sincerest condolences to her family.
