On Wednesday, March 17, 2004 of Falls Church, VA. Rosemary was born in Washington, DC and was raised in Arlington, VA by her parents, Joseph H. and Mae D. Burns McSurdy, originally from Forestville, PA. She was a homemaker and raised her family during her 20-year marriage to James M. Stoner, Jr. She later married Charles J. Sullivan, Jr. Rosemary worked for the National Wildlife Federation for 15 years and retired from there. For the past several years, she worked part-time for the Better Business Bureau and was just recently forced to leave due to her illness. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Stoner Belkin of Winchester, VA; son, James M. (Monty) Stoner, III and wife, Lori of Catharpin, VA and daughter, Mary "Beth" Lawson and husband, Garry of Catharpin, VA. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Melanie Williams and husband, Garland of Gainesville, VA, Amy Stanley and husband, Shawn of Nokesville, VA and Jimmy Joe Stoner of Nokesville, VA; sister of Charles E. McSurdy and wife, Kay of Fairview, TN and one nephew, Michael McSurdy and family of Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Sullivan, Jr. Graveside services at National Memorial Park on Thursday, March 25 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at her home to celebrate her life, immediately following the graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospices of the National Capital Region, Northern VA Branch, American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
