Rubin Kaplan Obituary
On Thursday, December 25, 2003 RUBIN KAPLAN of Silver Spring, MD. Devoted husband of Ethel Kaplan for 41 years and the late Sophie Kaplan; beloved father of Frances (Barrett) Penan, Judy (Mark) Levin, Esther (Bert) Foer, and Julian (Sandy) Safrin; dear brother of Meyer (Leah) Kaplan; loving grandfather of Stuart, Charles, Franklin (Abby), Jonathan, Joshua, Ben, and Jeremy. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2003, 9:30 a.m. at Har Tzeon-Agudath Achim Congregation, 1840 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, MD 20902. Interment following at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Adelphi, MD. Shiva will be observed at the late residence through Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Har Tzeon-Agudath Achim Congregation. Arrangements by TORCHINSKY HEBREW FUNERAL HOME, 202-541-1001 (endorsed by the Rabbinical Council of Washington).

From the Graves family (1756 Seaton Street NW) we send our condolences to the family. Having known Mr. Kaplan from the time we moved on Seaton Street some 40 plus years until he sold the store he was thought of as family. He knew all 8 children, mother, grandmother and even father. He was a good man and a kind soul. He will truly be missed by those of us left on Seaton Street.
