STEPHEN DACHI Obituary

STEPHEN F. DACHI (Age 84)
Of Woodbridge, VA died on July 2, 2017, at his home after a long battle with prostate cancer. Stephen lived a colorful life, from his birth in Budapest, Hungary until the present. There is not much that he did not accomplish. When his career in oral pathology became rote, he was one of the five founders of the dental school at the University of Kentucky at Lexington. When he had a job opportunity in Latin America, he set upon teaching himself Spanish and Portuguese. In his spare time, he embarked on driving a Red Top Cab in Virginia, and later he lectured on cruise ships around the globe, sharing his vast knowledge of world-wide affairs. He was retired, but someone forgot to notify him of that fact. His latest adventure was teaching his beloved students at George Washington University. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Rule. He leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life, Lee Dachi; daughter, Sally Valdez; son, Chris Dachi; grandchildren, Daniel and Emily; stepchildren, Theodore Godfrey and Montana Woodard; three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. He would not want us to forget one of his reasons for smiling every day, his precious dog, Jenny.  Service will be held at the Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22192 at Saturday, July 8 at 2 p.m. Any contributions in his memory, may be sent to the Virginia Hospital Center Foundation, 1701 N George Mason Dr., Arlington, VA 22205.
