I met Steve in Boulder at the University of Colorado in 1980. We were roommates and then friends from that time on. I had not heard back from him recently and was suddenly fearing the worst. He had not mentioned any health problems the last time I saw him. I would have seem him during a visit to D.C. not too many years ago, but he suddenly was COVID positive right on the day I was supposed to meet up with him. He was an incredibly well-read man, with interests in many arts. We had many laughs at various things over the years: I remember us watching old Monty Python episodes on the tiny black and white TV which we had in the apartment we shared. I saddens me greatly to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family!
